Murals at Mason commissioned Doudgy Charmant to design a mural that celebrates the diversity and creativity one can find in Manassas, as well as the pollinators that our well-being relies on.

Artist Statement: “In this captivating painting, we are immersed in a surreal world where music and nature intertwine harmoniously. A young man passionately plays the trombone, and from the instrument flows a mesmerizing cascade of surreal piano keys. These keys transform into a vibrant floral landscape, as bees gracefully pollinate the keys and their surroundings, infusing them with life and color.

Among the piano keys, we encounter a woman who holds a small bug adorned with the word "love." In her hands, she carries a bag filled with seeds, which she scatters onto the piano keys, continuing the process of pollination in her own loving way. This act represents the power of spreading love, kindness, and positive energy through intentional actions.

The mural invites us to reflect on the profound impact we can have on our environment and relationships when we choose to nurture and spread love. The vibrant colors and whimsical imagery evoke a sense of joy, inspiration, and unity.”
