ARTIST STATEMENT: Somedays are harder than others to the point where you donβt want to get out of bed in the morning and where itβs hard to go to sleep at night. Everything begins in the mind. When I first wake up in the morning and when I lie awake at night, I am always thinking about the dark and light moments in my life. This project is about healing and the rocky path that comes with the process to get where you need to be to feel whole again. This stop motion project portrays the dark and light sides of who I am and my current path to healing.
I am a versatile artist who experiments with different media. I work with various types of making including painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, and jewelry making. This project specifically highlights the dark and light in my past traumas, the mental health blocks, and the road to discovering a better version of myself. My overall vision as an artist is to invoke feelings of change and healing through my art.
