ARTIST STATEMENT: My series of animations is titled, “THE BOMBASTIC BATCH.” These animations will showcase a particular animal head with distinct attributes based on my friends, including myself and all our idiosyncratic personalities. The Lightning-Ram personifies myself, blue eyed emotional intensive charged by turbulent thunderstorms with electric blue lightning. The Blazing-Cardinal personifies my friend Felix, a dark thick eyebrow volatile gamer with a flaming temper and a passion for aviation.The Commando-Ape personifies my friend Will, a color blind trigger happy gun enthusiast with a dark British sense of humor. The Hypnotic-Axolotl personifies my friend Andy, an intellectual swimming enthusiast with an altered state of mind levitating in aquatic morphing bubbles. The Synth-Cat personifies my brother Marcus, dark haired analytic with a decisive killer instinct erupting in pulsating neon colors. The illustrations, line-work and shading are a stylized blend of colorful comic books and vintage mascots. These animations can be utilized for social media avatars, logos, icons or GIFs. I enjoy creating characters and creatures with unique personalities that incorporate engaging visual aesthetics. My fascination with superhero comics, 2D animations and the exploration of animals in nature became my catalyst. By observing my subject matter I designed and created 5 animal animations with Adobe After Effects software.
