DESIGNER STATEMENT: Jonathan Menendez is a Virginia based graphic designer who is passionate about design and illustration. Before my journey as a graphic design student, I was originally a new media art major that wanted pursue illustration, but I have always been interested in design and I wanted to learn more about it. That’s when I made the decision to switch majors and pursue a degree in graphic design. For my senior project I wanted to use all the skills I have learned throughout my journey in school and combine it with my creative interests. The book I made uses all the knowledge I have learned about design and combines with it my illustration skills.  For the book, The Cost of Fashion I wanted to create a book that talks about a topic I am interested in which is eco-sustainability, pollution, and humanitarian rights.
