DESIGNER STATEMENT: In my experience as an artist, designer, and passionate individual, I strive to connect one’s visual experience with one of truth, goodness and beauty. Transformed into Light is an effort to combine the human experience, philosophical thinking, and visual communication to these transcendentals. In particular, this book dives into the writings of Saint Pope John Paul II, “Man cannot fully find himself, except through a sincere gift of himself (Gaudium et Spes par. 24)” and looks into how it applies to modern women. The insecurity, confusion, regret, and isolation that many women experience in today’s culture prevent them from understanding their own identity, worth, and dignity. The raw and honest stories of four mothers of various backgrounds and lifestyles image the beauty and fulfillment of a self-giving life. This collection of interviews will address the issues that our toxic society instills in every woman’s mind and heart through their accounts of pain and darkness. Amongst the darkness, through a sincere gift of themselves as women and mothers, they find joy in their unique purposes in this world. Their darkness is transformed into light.
