DESIGNER STATEMENT: Hello. My name is Iskander Dambowic. I am an illustrator and graphic designer with a healthy(?) obsession with space and science fiction. I also love storytelling and worldbuilding, which is why for my senior project I decided to combine all my interests and abilities into one premise. TAL-BOT's Journal is a science-fictional traveler's log filled with digital creature and environment illustration. It follows TAL-BOT, an explorer drone as he observes, catalogs, and muses over the sights and wonders of a completely alien world. This book allowed me to express the pleasure of simply meandering through a fictional world, and how there's beauty in the mundane, even in the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the creatures that live all around us. Except, you know, this takes place on another planet so maybe the correlation isn't exactly one-to-one.

I hope that those who choose to read TAL-BOT's Journal experience a pleasant chuckle, a silent "ooh," maybe even an approving "huh."
