DESIGNER STATEMENT: Design wasn’t my first love, wasn’t even a part of my career path options I had for myself. I always wanted to be an illustrator, to draw for different studios and projects. However, over the past four years at George Mason University and taking classes for design and meeting so many passionate designers here (from students to professors), I started to learn to love this field and how important it is to have skills in design no matter what path I wanted to go for. They inspired me to make breathtaking, fun, exciting, electrifying designs and motivated me to put 110% of my efforts into being the best I can in this field. Design wasn’t my first love, but it will be my last.

For my senior design project, I wanted to combine all my skills and creative interests together – from design to illustration to my love for food – this led me to create this book, Deliciously Ngon Quá (translation: Deliciously Delicious), a Vietnamese food guide on a wide variety of yummy Vietnamese cuisine. Designed to be easy to read but also visually engaging with fun illustrations, I showed all my skills that I learned through the years at George Mason University within this book.

“As an aspiring content creator, I strive not only to produce top quality design and artwork, but to also be an inspiration and motivator to those around me.”
