ARTIST STATEMENT: I have been drawing for as long as I can remember. Just like everybody else, I started at a young age, using traditional mediums such as pencil and plain white paper. As I grew older, I became more exposed to the different art, and styles that made me pursue an art career. The two that stood out to me the most were comic and manga art as I read a lot of those during my spare time. For my senior project, Iām creating a short comic piece, a prologue, that will set my future webtoon plan in motion. A webtoon is an app for an online platform where you can post digitally made comics that are meant to be read on your phone, scrolling vertically to read each panel. The content of my comic will be vague to some extent as the lore behind it is so much more in-depth and very much complicated. To sum things up, I will be using this opportunity as a springboard to launch a project that I have thought about for years. Through this short comic, I am hoping to showcase what I have been planning for so long as well as showcase my artistic skills.
