This workshop, led by decorative artist and surface designer, Hadiya Williams, will explore the use of AI generative art in the 21st century as a powerful tool for radical imagination. The workshop will specifically focus on the MidJourney image blending technique and its potential for expanding how you create.
The focus of the workshop is not limited to using AI for creating photorealistic images or replicating other artistic styles, but rather emphasizes exploring how it can be used as a starting point for any creative work.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own artwork (digital or physical), images, objects, etc., and use their cell phones or cameras to capture images that can be incorporated into the AI renderings. The workshop will be an experimental and fun experience, and participants should be able to see their own aesthetic reflected in the renderings once they become comfortable with the process.
The ultimate goal of the workshop is for participants to leave with a new tool and a greater understanding of the potential that generative art can bring to their creative practice.
