DESIGNER STATEMENT: As a designer and illustrator, art has always been a big part of my life. Both mediums are a form of visual storytelling in that they communicate messages through their content; with my senior project, I sought to combine the two into an illustrated book. Covert Tactics depicts three short stories of female agents and resistance fighters during World War 2, the global conflict which resulted in the world we live in today. Women are not often talked about in the context of war, so I wanted to highlight their achievements as well as provide new perspectives to significant events.
