DESIGNER STATEMENT: Allison Kasekamp is currently a graphic design student here at the School of Art. She has over six years of design experience from various institutions including C.S Monroe Technology Center, Northern Virginia Community College, and George Mason University. This project is a culmination of all her studies from her years of learning and working within the graphic design field. This project is a series of five posters and was created as a dedication to her father, Brian Kasekamp, who ensured her educational success through his endless support. The posters were created to portray their favorite activity which is going to coffee shops together. Each poster is an example of Allison’s typographic and advertising ability as she has designed them to represent the coffee shop's environment, brand, and message. These designs were created using several Adobe software such as InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Each poster within this series measures 18" by 24" inches. The designs are full color and utilize a complementary color scheme to ensure aesthetics while still focusing on important design elements such as contrast, hierarchy, and unity.
